AO began a long tradition as the premier supplier of sunglasses to the U.S. Government and U.S. Armed Forces in 1913 with the introduction of the first 100% UVA and UVB protective Calobar® lens technology.
In 1958, AO developed the Flight Goggle 58, now known as the Original Pilot Sunglass® (or OPS) for the U.S. Air Force. More than 45 years have passed and the Original Pilot Sunglass remains the top preference of pilots due to its maximum protection, optical performance and comfort.
